    Assuming if the length of the expressway to the two towns are 3km, the area of both are 9km^2. As town A is 2 km, the length is scaled down from 3km to 2 km. Hence, the distance as the breadth (expressway) will increase. As such, the total area are the same but not enough information is given as to find the scale factor.

  4. More information is need to solve the Math Problem 2.
    The junction would be somewhere between 2Km to 3Km from the left side of the expressway.

    If the perpendicular distance between Town A and the junction is x, and the perpendicular distance between Town B and the junction is y.

    Since the distance between Town A and the expressway is 2km; Town B and the expressway is 3km;

    (x^2+2^2)=(y^2+3^2); x+y = 6

    (x+2)^2=(y+3)^2; x+y=6

    Therefore, x = 41/12 and y = 31/12
